How’s this for some cool revisionist history?

You know how sometimes you’re joking around with friends and you say “Wouldn’t it be funny if…” and then you say something that at best mildly amusing? I think it’s safe to say that “Wouldn’t it be funny if…” roughly translates to “Hey, this is a somewhat funny idea in theory, but definitely not worth the time it would take to write a sketch around it or edit it – actually, come to think of it, it’s not worth any more time than the five seconds during which it surfaced in this conversation.” Roughly.

Well… tonight, I wasted an hour following through with one of those “Wouldn’t it be funny if…” situations. At some point in the last few months, Justin and I were driving in my car listening to the Fleet Foxes song Ragged Wood. Toward the end of the song, they repeatedly sing “Back to You” and Justin said, “Wouldn’t it be funny if this was the theme song for the Kelsey Grammer show, Back To You?”

Well, here’s the answer: No. It would not be funny.

Can you believe I spent an hour finding an episode of Back to You, ripping it, opening it in Final Cut Pro, timing the music and mixing the audio? I sure can’t. I guess if there’s a joke anywhere, it’s on me for wasting time making this. But, oh well, here it is. Did you watch it? Now you’re my time-wasting accomplice.

One thing that did surprise me: The opening credit sequence for Back To You is actually pretty cool. Also, I wonder if Ty Burrel was bummed that this show got cancelled, and then really glad it got cancelled once he was offered Modern Family.

Bangarang! Our first show is at the UCB Theatre, January 11th, 9:30pm.

My siblings and I have been trying to give Lego Falling Water to my Dad for months, but it took forever to track it down because every store was either back ordered or didn’t carry it. First it was going to be a Father’s Day present, then it was going to be a birthday present, then a Hanukkah present… finally I found one and we gave it to him on Christmas.

Anyway, we all built it together on Christmas and had a great time! I had the idea to take a picture every few minutes to chart our progress, and my Dad had the idea to make those pictures into a film. So, here’s the film!

It makes me really want to visit the real falling water. Maybe I’ll do that this year….

Came across this while searching some stuff for Home Alone. I’ve always liked Daniel Stern and I’m really impressed/surprised with how much fun this is to watch. I love that the White House does this.

Also, Daniel Stern kind of looks a little like Mr. Bowles (one of my favorite high school teachers) which instantly makes him more endearing.

New tremendoshort: Home Alone: Retribution. Twenty years after his parents left him home alone for the second time, Kevin McCallister is back. And this time, nobody will forget him.

We shot this in two days and had a three day editing cram-sesh that ended in near loss of our sanity. That said, it was incredibly fun to make! We made a list of our dream casting for all the parts and luckily got every single person on that list to be in the video. More on tremendosaur.com.

My old blog got hacked. Not sure how it happened, and I’m definitely upset about losing all of the posts that were on it, but I didn’t notice until about three months later. That means I didn’t blog for three months. It’s kind of like not feeding your baby for three months and then checking the crib and being shocked it’s dead. Actually it’s not like that at all, but I guess I’m just saying that part of me feels like I deserved this. Use it or lose it, ya know?

There’s a positive first post.
